What do I do if I've lost a book that I checked out?

In most but not all cases, the library will accept replacement copies of lost or damaged books and DVDs. Replacement copies must first be authorized by Access Services. Please contact the Service Desk at (812) 941-2485 to speak with someone about this option.

If library materials are not returned or renewed within 30 days of their due dates, replacement costs of those items are billed to patrons. Most books and DVDs have a standard replacement cost of $60.00. For more expensive items, especially technology (laptops, tablets, cameras, etc.), patrons are billed the actual cost of the item at the time of purchase.

After receiving your final notice in the mail, replacement fines are transferred to your Bursar's account at Student Central. You may pay these bills online.
